Among other universities in Poland, Gdynia Maritime University is the largest school of higher maritime education in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. The university have four faculties with degrees in Navigation, Marine Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Commodity Science and Marine Electrical Engineering. Currently, around 8,000 students pursue their higher education in the institution.

The University has been participating in Erasmus program since 1998; therefore, it offers study abroad programs in English. The university welcomes international students and takes part in exchange programs with an aim to expand an international cooperation between other institutions and support the mobility of students.

The university is proud of its two well equipped school ships: “Dar Młodziezy” and Horyzont II”. They are very important for the school as it believes that “the education of future officers of the merchant fleet must be realized, first of all, during sea-deep voyages” (Gdynia Maritime University).

Campus area of the university was equipped with all needed aspects to create a perfect place for professional and individual development. The library of Gdynia Maritime University has more than 100,000 books, 9,000 periodicals, and 200 special collections. The university also offers several sport sections and scientific groups of interest, if students would like to be a part of any community in a free time.

In addition, there are two place where students can have lunch: buffet and cafeteria. The prices are focused on students, so they could get some tasty food for affordable price.

The university is situated on ul. Morska 81,to which it is possible to get by different means of transport. The location is very beneficial because there are a lot of places around like restaurants, grocery shops, molls, and others.

As Gdynia is relative small city, it is quite possible to visit every interesting place there. In Gdynia you can find Emigration Museum in Gdynia, City of Gdynia Museum, Centrum Nauki Experyment, Gdynia Aquarium, and many others. Studying in Gdynia Maritime University you will get not only education of high quality but also a chance to enjoy the beauty of the city and the sea.
